Enrichment
The state-of-the-art
Centennial Complex includes four classrooms, a Studio
Theatre, and a multi- purpose air-conditioned gymnasium. This
facility has
fulfilled many needs of the student body at Kelly including
a new band and
drama program. All-school Celebrations of the Eucharist, drama
presentations,
and athletic tournaments are just a few of the events Kelly
is now able to offer.
The science
laboratories and the acquisition of up-to-date equipment provide
the means of using the most effective methods for instruction
and learning in
laboratory-oriented experiences. The curriculum is comprehensive,
sequential,
and recognizes the varied level skills of students. Students
are expected to go
beyond the levels of memorization of facts and to develop
and demonstrate
their intellectual capacities to the extent of their capabilities.
Kelly students and
faculty have won numerous awards for their environmental efforts
including
"Clean Texas 2000," The Texas Governor’s Award
for Environmental
Excellence.
Instant information
retrieval using the latest in electronic technology is available
to all students in the "Buddy" Lefler, Jr. Information
Center. Students have
daily access to the automated online catalog, Internet, ProQuest
Select’s
electronic periodical’s full text, networked CD-ROM programs,
and an Electric
Library. A network of computers in the center gives students
an option of
conducting independent research. We have 3 full-sized computer
labs
that provide
word processing,
desktop publishing, programming, and the use of many software
applications
to reinforce the materials being taught in the various curriculum
areas.
