Monsignor Kelly
is committed to an educational experience that enables
students to
grow in faith and challenges them to explore the call to service
and
discipleship.
Kelly offers spiritual growth through Eucharistic Celebration,
prayer services,
theology courses, and retreats. Students are guided on their
faith journey
as they question and seek a deeper understanding of themselves
and God. Members
of Friends in Faith plan all-school liturgies under the
guidance of
a chaplain and a youth minister. All students perform 100
hours of
charitable
or community service during their four years at Kelly. Students
volunteer at
their parish churches, the Cerebral Palsy Center, Some Other
Place
Soup Kitchen,
local nursing homes, and in many other community projects
such
as the St.
Annes Halloween Carnival, singing and delivering homemade
Christmas
cards to Hotel Beaumont, and the Pilot Club Christmas Parade.
Students are
educated to be leaders in service and to reach out to others
as
they personally
contribute their time and talents to make the world a better
place in which
to life.
The academic
and emotional needs of students are met by a variety of services
provided by
the counseling office. Students may schedule individual meetings
with a guidance
counselor or a peer counselor to discuss personal concerns.
They are also
encouraged to participate in support groups that are facilitated
by the guidance
counselors. Annual student and parent meetings are held for
each grade
level to assist in college and career planning. Individual
academic
planning conferences
are held with each student and his of her parents during
the freshman
and junior years. Career Explorations is offered to help students
make adult
career choices. Current college and occupational information
is
available to
all students in the counseling office and colleges also make
on site
visitations.
The counseling staff focuses on assisting students in applying
to the
colleges and
universities that best suit their needs.
Placement in Monsignor Kelly Catholic High Schools curriculum
is based on
several criteria,
including grades and standardized test scores. Admission is

Communications
Campaign, a division of the U.S. Catholic Conference, chose
Kelly as the
only high school in the nation featured in the hour-long NBC
Special, "Catholic
Schools: A Place to Belong." The U.S. Military Academy
at
West Point
has recognized Kelly as one of its seven Stars in Education
nationwide.
The school is a member of the National Catholic Education

of this excellent school is its dedicated faculty. Kellys
teachers
encourage
perseverance and excellence. With a student-faculty ratio
of 10:1, a
special report
is developed between the two. The mission of the school is
to
provide academic
excellence clothed in the teachings of God and to provide
